This is the most common inspection, and is recommended for those who have an appliance or venting system that has not changed or experienced problems. This basic check-up examines the readily accessible areas of the chimney and appliances to ensure that the structure is intact and there are no visible signs of damage.
This inspection is recommended for anyone who has experienced any chimney issues, or if you have moved to a new home. The level 2 inspection includes the visual examination of a level 1, plus examination of attics, crawlspaces, and other accessible areas.
If any damage has beenn discovered during a level 1 or 2 inspection, or if there are severe and persistent problems, a level 3 inspection is recommended. In addition to the examinations covered by levels 1 and 2, level 3 checks concealed areas of the chimney. This may include the removal of certain components of the chimney to get an in depth look at the issues.
